Full-Service Engine Repair

Engine Repair Done Right.

We are a full-service engine repair shop. From timing chains and head gaskets to oil pumps and vacuum leaks — we diagnose the root cause first and repair it right.

We're a Full-Service Engine Shop

Engine problems don't fix themselves — and guessing at the cause makes them worse. At Signature Auto Service, we handle the full range of engine repair: internal components, seals and gaskets, timing systems, oil delivery, and everything in between. If it's part of your engine, we work on it.

We work on all makes and models — domestic and import, gas and diesel. Whether you're dealing with a minor oil leak, a vacuum leak causing a rough idle, or a more serious internal failure, we have the experience and equipment to diagnose it accurately and repair it correctly.

Every engine repair we perform is backed by our 1-year / 12,000-mile warranty on parts and labor. That warranty is only possible because we diagnose thoroughly before we touch anything — so we know exactly what we're fixing and we can stand behind it.

Engine Diagnostics: We Diagnose Before We Repair

Engine problems can come from dozens of different sources — and the symptoms often overlap. A rough idle could be a vacuum leak, a failing injector, a bad sensor, or a compression issue. White smoke could be a head gasket, a cracked block, or a coolant leak into the intake. Guessing costs you money and leaves the real problem unfixed.

Before any engine repair begins, we perform a thorough diagnostic. We connect professional-grade scan tools, pull fault codes across all systems, perform a test drive to experience the concern firsthand, and verify the root cause through testing — not assumption. Each concern is its own separate diagnostic.

Even if another shop has already diagnosed your vehicle, we perform our own diagnostic before we proceed. Not because we doubt you — but because we need to verify the diagnosis ourselves before we can put our name and our warranty on the repair.

Diagnostics are billed at $60 per hour, charged by the minute. You get a clear written estimate before any repair work begins.

Engine Services We Perform

Timing Chain & Timing Belt Service

The timing chain or belt synchronizes your engine's camshaft and crankshaft. A worn or failed timing component can cause misfires, rough running, and in interference engines, catastrophic internal damage. We replace timing chains, timing belts, tensioners, guides, idler pulleys, and water pumps as part of a complete timing service — on schedule, before they fail.

Head Gasket Repair

The head gasket seals the combustion chamber and coolant passages between the engine block and cylinder head. A blown head gasket causes coolant loss, overheating, white exhaust smoke, milky oil, and loss of compression. We diagnose head gasket failures with combustion leak tests and compression testing, then perform the full repair — including resurfacing the head if needed.

Intake Manifold Gasket Repair

Intake manifold gaskets seal the intake manifold to the cylinder head. When they fail, they cause vacuum leaks, coolant leaks into the intake, rough idle, misfires, and overheating. Common on many GM, Ford, and Chrysler engines. We diagnose and replace intake gaskets and inspect the manifold for warping or cracks.

Vacuum Leak Diagnosis & Repair

Vacuum leaks disrupt the air-fuel mixture and cause rough idle, high idle, misfires, hesitation, and check engine lights. Leaks can come from intake manifold gaskets, vacuum hoses, throttle body gaskets, brake booster lines, PCV hoses, and more. We use smoke testing and pressure testing to locate every leak — not just the obvious ones.

Oil Pump Replacement

The oil pump circulates engine oil to every moving part. Low oil pressure caused by a failing oil pump leads to accelerated wear and, if left unaddressed, engine failure. We diagnose oil pressure issues with mechanical gauges, identify the root cause, and replace the oil pump when needed — along with any related components like the oil pickup tube and screen.

Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

Valve cover gaskets seal the top of the engine and prevent oil from leaking onto the exhaust or other components. Leaking valve cover gaskets cause oil burning smells, visible oil on the engine, and can lead to misfires if oil leaks onto spark plug tubes. We replace valve cover gaskets and inspect spark plug tube seals at the same time.

Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

The oil pan gasket seals the bottom of the engine. A leaking oil pan gasket causes oil drips under the vehicle and can lead to low oil levels if not addressed. We remove the oil pan, clean the mating surfaces, and install a new gasket or RTV seal to spec.

Crankshaft & Camshaft Seal Replacement

Front and rear crankshaft seals, as well as camshaft seals, are common sources of oil leaks on higher-mileage engines. These seals are often replaced during timing belt or chain service since the components are already disassembled. We inspect and replace all seals in the area whenever we're in that part of the engine.

Engine Rebuild & Replacement

When an engine has suffered internal damage — spun bearings, scored cylinder walls, bent valves, or a seized rotating assembly — we evaluate whether a rebuild or a quality replacement engine is the right path. We'll give you an honest assessment of both options, including cost and expected longevity, so you can make an informed decision.
